Korimoto Station is the next stop of Kagoshima Chuo Station of Ibusuki-Makurazaki Line. This train is the next stop from Kagoshima-Chuo Train. Many business people and students use this train station. It takes 5 minutes to Kagoshima University by foot from this station.

TRAIN in KAGOSHIMA
Kagoshima is countryside and normal trains have only 1 to 2 compartments.
Length of trains is much shorter than those of big city such as Tokyo and Osaka.
It is as fast as cars (about 60 kilometers per hour). You can enjoy slow trip while enjoying scenery from the window.
CT817 : Nippo Line – Another Local Train
I was very lucky to witness CT817 local train at north Kagoshima City. The train runs between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and Miyazaki Prefecture. Internal facility is very similar to that of Ibusuki-Makurazaki Line.
TRAIN FACILITY
Kagoshima’s trains are equipped with toilets.
But please remember, young Western ladies! Most of them are Japanese-style.
It is best to go to Western-style toilet at the stations before you get on trains.
TRAIN vs CAR in KAGOSHIMA TRIP
If you use train, you can reach to many destinations from Kagoshima-Chuo station.
Train travels in Kagoshima is very comfortable and inexpensive all right, but I recommend you to travel by a rental car.
Many sightseeing spots are too far from station to walk from the station.
Most train staff are not so good at speaking English, but they are much kinder than other prefectures and get used to foreigners.
Trains of Ibusuki-Makurazaki Line
IBUTAMA (Express Train)
The train has the black and white colors. Ticket price is 2,070 yen for 1 round-trip between Kagoshima Chuo Station and Ibusuki Station. It runs between those 2 stations in 30 minutes. Most of passengers are tourists.
NANOHANA (Rapid Express Train)
The train is yellow body which is the color of Nanohana flower which is the symbol of Ibusuki City. Ticket price between Kagoshima Chuo Station and Ibusuki Station is 940. It runs between those 2 stations in 50 minutes. Both local people and tourists use the train frequently. It is not as fast as IBUTAMA but it is convenient and cheap.

Slow Local Train
The color is white. Ticket price between Kagoshima Chuo Station and Ibusuki Station is 940. It runs between those 2 stations in 75 minutes.
