Amakusa, Aso
What inspired you to rent a camper van?
I had always wanted to try traveling in a camper van, and I thought it would be easier and more comfortable than camping with a tent. I also thought it would be manageable even with children.
On the first day, we went to Amakusa. The driving experience was different from our usual car, so it took a bit longer, but we arrived safely.
We stayed at an RV park with hot springs and BBQ facilities.
The nearby beach was under development, with sand dunes that the kids enjoyed climbing.
On the second day, we went dolphin watching. We saw dolphins up close and even watched them jump, which was very satisfying.
After dolphin watching, we went to Aso, stayed at an RV park where we could have a BBQ, and enjoyed a BBQ dinner.
On the third day, we played on the sledding hill at Aso Roadside Station, had gelato, and then headed home.
The camper van allowed us to eat and sleep comfortably inside.
Message to those considering renting a camper van:
If you have children, I highly recommend renting a camper van. It provides a unique experience of sleeping in a vehicle, which I believe will delight the kids. With air conditioning, it’s also very comfortable.
