Access & Parking Information
Since we arrived with a large vehicle (camper van), we had to walk about 20 minutes to the third parking lot.
If your vehicle is of normal size and there is space available, you can go directly to the parking lot in front of the boat boarding area.

Explore Takachiho Gorge by Rental Boat!
This is the office at the boat boarding area.
Rental boats are 5,100 yen for 30 minutes. It’s quite a steep price.
However, since it would be a waste not to experience it after coming all this way, we decided to go for it.
We made a reservation at the reception, but online reservations are also available.
Since there is a limit on the number of rental boats available each day, it is better to make a reservation in advance.
While waiting, we had some dumplings from a nearby shop. They were delicious with a miso flavor!
About an hour after making the reservation, it was finally our turn for the rental boat.

We are a family of five, so we wanted all five of us to ride together, but the maximum number of passengers is four.
We decided to have my husband, our 7-year-old daughter, and 5-year-old son ride while I waited with our 2-year-old son.
My husband took some photos. The towering rocks on both sides are very impressive!
The view is breathtaking! I hope to see this scenery with my own eyes someday.
