Japanese Culture “HANAMI”
When cherry blossoms are in full bloom, Japanese people go out to neighborhood to appreciate them.
They have meals and alcohol beverages under the the tree.
This custom is called “HANAMI”, which literally means “Flower Appreciation”.
Spring is the season of farewell and meeting with new people in Japan. This is why Japanese people have Hanami party in Spring.
Graduations ceremonies are held at school and many old people retire from the company in March.
New students enter schools and young new people become the member of companies in April.
Places to see Sakura in Kagoshima
Mt. Uomi (Ibusuki City)
It takes about 1 hour from Kagoshima City (2 hours from Kagoshima Airport).
You can also have the spectacular view of Kagoshima Bay and Mt. Kaimon, too!
Senganen Park (Kagoshima City)
Senganen Park is the traditional Japanese style garden in Kagoshima.
You can appreciate cherry blossoms in the traditional garden.
There are usually many tourists.
Yoshino Park (Kagoshima City)
It takes about 30 minutes by bus from Kagoshima-Chuo Station.
In addition to cherry blossoms, there are so many kinds of other flowers.
