What Lies at the End of the Endless Stairs?!
Climb up a steep slope for about 100 meters.
While small children can run up easily, adults find it challenging due to their weight.
After rain, the path can be muddy, so please be careful not to slip.
Thinking about how the Kumaso people must have lived here and walked this slope daily, I imagine they were quite fit 💦
Finally, we arrive.
At first glance, it might seem like you can’t go further, but if you press the switch on the right side of the photo, the internal lights will turn on, allowing you to proceed. It’s thrilling!
The interior of Kumaso Cave features vivid art.
Although these are not paintings by the Kumaso people, the lighting creates a mystical atmosphere.
My husband lived in Australia and mentioned that Aboriginal people there also created similar vivid cave paintings.
In reality, there is a 300-tatami space further inside, but the entrance is blocked due to a landslide. What a pity!
