Nothing is more delicious than freshly baked bread in morning, isn’t it? I went to a nice restaurant “Backen” which has been popular among my wife’s friends. You can eat as many delicious bread as you want for only 750 yen. We strongly recommend the restaurant to you when you have morning breakfast in Tenmonkan, Kagoshima City, Japan. The name of the restaurant derived from German language which means “baking breads”.

Restaurant Atmosphere
We really look forward to the breakfast at the restaurant wondering how it would be.
It was just before the Christmas when we visited the restaurant.
The restaurant is located at the 2nd floor of the hotel “Hotel Mate”. In addition to customers of the hotel, other people can have breakfast at the restaurant for 750 yen.
Once we entered the restaurant, we were impressed by the delicious flavors of bread, which was filling the air of the room.
We sit at the table but you can also enjoy breakfast by the window. 🙂
I wish if I could have breakfast every morning in such a pleasant atmosphere before going to work.
Morning Set
Hot steaming soup is delivered while surrounded by flavors of bread!
Outside of the restaurant was very cold in December, so we felt really happy to see the soup!
My wife ordered the following soup (Beans Minestrone with Vegitables).
Soft-boiled egg looked really delicious. (Please refer to the video at the end of this article!)
On the other hand, I ordered Onion Soup. Textures of potatoes and vegetables are soft, steaming, easily broken, and very appetizing!
I had the soup and felt as if it provided me with the great strength of the day! I want to have the soup every day…
Of course, my wife’s soup is as delicious as this one, though!
Delicious Breads
The best thing about the restaurant is that you can eat as much freshly-baked bread as you want!
You can choose strawberry, honey, butter and the like for breads. My favorite is red beans, while my wife loves peanuts cream.
Put your favorite on the designated wooden plate. The plate is a little bit too small and I thought it was for putting my hot towel on. My wife scolded at me on the sly. How embarrassing I am.
Various kinds of fresh breads are delivered one after another. All of them are fresh, warm, soft and very very DELICIOUS!
Drinks include white milk, orange, wulong tea, apple and coffee (ice & hot).
I had as many as 20 pieces of breads…! I ate too much and felt very full as if I cannot move at all.
Following breads are sold for one by one. My stomach is full all right, but once I saw those bread, I felt as if I could continue to eat them!
If you love fresh bread, you must not miss the restaurant!

Foot：Get off tram at “Tenmonkan-dori” station and turn right at the Maruya Garden Building and go to Gofukuhon-Dori (street). The restaurant is located at the 2nd floor of the Hotel Mate.
Car: You have to drive in a very narrow road to park the car. If you are not confident in your driving technique, it is wise to park your car at nearby coin parking lots.
